VIDEO: Broadening the Prosperity Debate
Making Minnesota a right-to-work state is creeping back into the policy debate, especially on the conservative side of Minnesota's legislative primaries. This isn't a polcy that moves Minnesota forward and could eventually drive down wages, benefits and protections for all workers.
While it's important progressives ensure this type of idea doesn't become Minnesota policy, Macalester's professor of labor history Peter Rachleff believes we must also remain focused on the bigger issues of fairness and shared prosperity in Minnesota. Focusing on strengthening rights, wages and protections in all aspects of the labor force moves Minnesota forward.
